Trying to promote a gay YAOI with the public, and in particular in the Italian gay (which, in most cases, is very down to earth), is a bit 'like going to promote complete ski female in a male fishing club ... Maybe to some ski fisherman candy pink (with matching headset) can also be of interest, but most do not. I get the idea?
Moreover, if - paradoxically - a fisherman had the unfortunate idea to go fishing using skis and experience to be unpleasant, it may also decide that the sport in general are not for him ... Now substitute the word sport with the word "comics" and you'll understand why, every time you try to promote and YAOI BOYS LOVE at the gay Italian, I always have a certain fear that there may be adverse effects on the relationship between Italian gay and comics in general, with all the consequences appropriate. The good news is that the editors of the long course, as the Kappa Edizioni, have long understood that this strategy has failed, and despite continuing to publish manga BOYS LOVE (those produced in Japan, of course), for many more years does not promote them at the circuit homosexual ... Where, if anything, are busy promoting their comics with gay themes more properly ...
Which still has an impact on a lot, now that the true cultural circuit gay Italian is what you created on the internet, and certainly not in very few libraries gay Italian ... And even less in the world of local, where people do not go looking for some intellectual stimulation. Which brings me to think that if the Teke editions not yet have a website or a blog visible, maybe they need to see a little 'their concept of the gay world. Among other things, the Internet is becoming the main circuit gay culture in other nations such as France. The evidence is the fact that the historical monthly gay Têtu, which was keeping the bank since 1995 and also have a decent run, decided to go completely over the Internet starting next October.
This is also why, from 2009 to 2010, people who follow his site each month has increased from 100,000 to 700,000, and is certainly a fact to be reckoned with. But be careful: the passage on the Internet of Têtu can not and should not be compared with the disappearance of the historical monthly gay Babylon a few years ago, because these are two very different situations. In fact, the paper version of Têtu has become superfluous because in France the general media (from newspapers to television) is already dealing with competence and professionalism of topics related to the homosexual community, and do so with some frequency. In France, a gay monthly magazine, as edited, is still likely to be late with his information and his insights and the only way to remain competitive is precisely to point to a website that can be updated in real time. The situation that has developed in France, in fact, it seems very similar to the U.S., so much so that the monthly gay The Advocate is now present only on the Internet.
The Italian situation, unfortunately, is very different. In fact, on one hand the Italian media often speak of homosexuality, on the other they do so very confused and rough, putting more regularly highlight aspects of folklore, or perhaps those related to current events or some political statement unedifying . Obviously thinking of further topics related to the gay community as such, or worse, its culture and his sexuality is still a taboo not just media. Especially in this period, which makes it easier to communicate that homosexuality is the worst of the worst, and then use as a yardstick to make other types of less serious conduct. In this climate it is clear that the Italians may have only the gay media spaces for the consumption of the people straight and not tailored to them, like maybe going abroad ... Just to give you an example: March 1 the French general channel Canal + aired a documentary on gay porn performer Francois Sagat (below you can see the promo) ...

In Italy, today, something like that would go beyond science fiction. So much so that, for us, the gay porn performer Carlo Masi was excluded the last moment by the cast of a television program entirely soft tones, as too compromising ... I think it is clear that in this context, the lack of a gay magazine accessible to all (and not just those attending the premises) is heard. Not to mention that the internet, in Italy, it is still difficult to use on large portions of our territory, leaving many homosexuals in a state of isolation, with all the problems that arise (and which will be added to a complex situation not so idyllic ). What a little 'concern is that in a time when the claim would be really important to gay identity, gay Italian circuits continue to do all herbs a bunch ... And so the YAOI will also be the theme of the evening of March 10 at the Chic disco king of Rome ...
Among other things they tell me that this club is also listed in the bear enough, and I really struggled to understand how the YAOI (and maybe the YURI) may have some attraction to this type of audience. Also on March 19 there will also be an event organized by Edizioni Teke YAOI Gay Street in Roman ... Do not know about you, but I get the feeling that there is something in all this does not add up. Is it really possible that even in 2011, the gay cultural scene is so poor from having to borrow the imagery of YAOI (which, I remind you, is designed and manufactured in order to heterosexual women) to animate a gay night at the disco and make presentations at bookstores gay? I think it is something that we must consider very seriously.
